MIDDLE SCHOOL ART

 

1. This is a nine-week course.  You will be alternating between Art and FACS approximately every five days.  Each class period will be 100 minutes.

 

2. What will you be doing?
• Projects using a variety of mediums
• Clay
• Worksheets
• Quizzes

 

3.   How will I be graded?

• Attitude
• Ability
• Grading Scale: 100%-90% A, 89%-80% B, 79%-70% C, 69%-60 D, 59%-0% F

 

4. What will I be graded on?

• Quizzes
• Written Assignments
• Projects
• Attitude, Effort and Behavior

 

5. What if I miss a day of class?

• Get your work done ahead of time if you know you will be gone
• You get two days to get your work done for every one day absent
• Assignments are considered late if they are not done, at the beginning of class on the assigned day.  Late assignments will be docked half the points earned.  Assignments five or more days late will be given a zero.

 

6. What are the rules?

·        All behave like ladies and gentlemen

·        Be respectful of each other

·        Automatic detention for misbehavior during clay usage and misbehavior for the sub(because this is a 100 minute class, the student will be given two detentions for misbehavior for the sub)

 

7. What happens if you break a rule?

Depending on the circumstances, my choice of the following:

·        Verbal Warning

·        Detention

·        Student call parent

·        Teacher call parent

·        Office referral

 

 

8. What do I expect from you?

·        Follow the rules.

·        Come to class prepared and on time.

·        Have an open mind and be willing to try new things.

·        Listen to and follow directions

·        Have NO missing assignments

·        NOT talking when I’m talking

 

9. What can you expect from me?

·        Be prepared for class

·        Be fair

·        Respect you

·        Listen if you need to talk
